December 2011 Mosaic

Finally. Done. I know, I'm very late posting my final Mosaic here. It turns out the beginning for 2012 turned out to busier than the end of 2011.

I'm not going to deny it: I do miss it a little bit but mostly I am so glad to be done with this project. It was fun but towards the end it became a chore as I did not have time to really work on my craft and I really was not happy with a lot of my photos. It became all about looking and capturing a photo for the project and posting it and not about just enjoying Photography. I'm not very good at balancing all that is in my life and I would get very resentful of everything taking my time away from my Photography. This does not work at all when trying to tap into my creativity. So, I have been on a sort of Photography hiatus. I still look at and read my favorite Photography blogs every day, still pick up my camera when I feel it and of course I'm still using my iPhone...just not like I was. I am worried I will miss capturing something and not have a record of it but I am still observing and viewing life around me and how I could capture that with my camera.

Now, on to other projects. Ones that are little less deadline sensitive. My day job is all about deadlines, every day, which stifles my creativity far too much.

I am off to explore other Creative mediums. I will still be shooting of course and posting on Flickr...maybe another blog.

Thank you for viewing my photos and reading my ramblings.

365/365 - Bare Trees

Saturday, December 31, 2011

Hubs and I were on our way up to Sweetwater to spend our 29th Anniversary and New Year's Eve with our best friends. We took our time driving up, enjoying the beautiful weather and the scenery, stopping for lunch and a few photos.

These bare trees, this gorgeous sky and the light caught my. They also reminded me that I need to download a copy of Bare Trees by Fleetwood Mac from iTunes. I think I may still have it on vinyl. Yep, I'm old.

364/365 - My Son is channeling his Great-Grandfather

Friday, December 30, 2011

He was getting ready to go camping for the weekend. He's actually been getting ready for this trip for months. In so many ways he reminds me of my husbands grand father.

I thought it was an interesting view when I took the picture. Now I'm thinking I need to clear out some stuff.

361/365 - Scarves made by Carol

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

My mother-in-law had been making scarves for at least the last year before she fell ill. She made one for each of her kids, grand kids, their significant others, and her great-grand kids. My brother-in-law put packages together for everyone for Christmas with these and other items that she had set aside and labeled.

Theses are very special gifts, the best gifts. I had a very difficult time holding back the tears on Christmas day when we all opened up these packages. Thank you Carol.

359/365 - Merry Christmas Everyone!

Sunday, December 25, 2011

The yearly Family photo. Well we try most years.

This year I got a wireless remote for my camera in my stocking. Thank you Hubs! So we gathered together but we were having trouble getting the three-year-old to sit still. Then we hooked up the camera to the tv so we could see how we looked. That was it, he was ON. This was a lot of fun though and we will do it again.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

358/365 - Christmas Eve Bokeh

Saturday, December 24, 2011

All the kids were gone for the evening. Hubs was asleep. I was doing some last minute straightening up and of course capturing the calm before the morning. Loving playing with the bokeh!
